Irene Dym was born in Brussels, Belgium and educated in New York city , U.S.A. She immigrated to Israel with her  family and  settled in Rehovot.
  After first attending art classes given by Eliahu Gat , Rachel Shavit , Shimon Avni, Yair Garbus,and studying printing technique with Schlomo Yehudayan and Dan Kriger she continued formal studies
at Bat Yam Institute of Art.
In 1981 she became a member  of the Tel Aviv Artist’s House.  
Since her first one-woman show in 1983, she has participated in many group shows in Israel and exhibitions in New York and Germany.
Irene taught art printing techniques and courses in creativity at the Adult Education center of Rehovot from 1986. -2005   .  
Irene Dym is one of the founding members of The Visual Arts Association of Rehovot.
She is on the management committee and is  treasurer of the Association.
Artist’s comment:
The extreme contrast between the civilized side of humanity and the primitive, instinctive violent
Side, leads me to the basic theme of most of my works.
